Step-by-Step Makeup Tutorial

Step 1: Primer

Primer is the first step in creating a smooth canvas for your makeup. It fills in pores and fine lines, ensuring that your makeup applies evenly and lasts longer.

  1. Choose a Primer: Select a primer suitable for your skin type. For oily skin, opt for a mattifying primer. For dry skin, choose a hydrating primer.
  2. Application: Take a small amount of primer and apply it to your face, focusing on areas with larger pores or fine lines. Blend it out using your fingers or a makeup sponge.

Step 2: Foundation

Foundation helps even out your skin tone and provides a base for the rest of your makeup.

  1. Choose a Foundation: Find a foundation that matches your skin tone and suits your skin type. Liquid, powder, and cream foundations are popular choices.
  2. Application: Apply a small amount of foundation to the back of your hand. Using a makeup sponge, brush, or your fingers, dot the foundation onto your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Blend it outwards in circular motions until it’s evenly distributed.

Step 3: Concealer

Concealer is used to cover blemishes, dark circles, and other imperfections.

  1. Choose a Concealer: Pick a concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your foundation for highlighting and one that matches your foundation for covering blemishes.
  2. Application: Apply the lighter concealer under your eyes in a triangular shape, down the bridge of your nose, on the center of your forehead, and on your chin to highlight. Use the matching concealer to cover any blemishes or redness. Blend using a makeup sponge or brush.
